Golden staph is a potentially fatal disease caused by the bacteria staphylococcus aureus and can be spread by touching infected surfaces or via skin contact. Golden Staph is one of the infections which can be contracted in hospital or during surgical procedures. It may be a topical or internal infection. It may include inflammation, ulceration, break-down of tissue and/or poisoning of the blood stream. This bacterium produces many pus-forming infections ranging from boils, carbuncles and abscesses to fatal septicaemia and gangrene. Humans are generally highly susceptible to this pathogen.

There are now strains of Golden Staph which have various levels of antibiotic resistance, with some strains becoming impossible to control with the currently available antibiotic therapies. These herbs can help to weaken the bacteria, whilst also supporting the immune system. By weakening the bacteria, the antibiotic therapy will have more chance of successfully overcoming the bacteria.
