Description / Itchy Horse

$244.85 value for $218.95

Contains 1 litre Aller-GG, 1 litre Infect-a-clear, 500ml Midge-A-Away

This program addresses the skin issue from the inside. It includes herbs to strengthen the nervous system as well as the immune system, liver and blood quality.

The program also includes Midge-away. It was developed in response to the increasing demand to have insect repellents that are 100% chemical free. This product can be used pre and post ride to deter annoying flying insects. Can also be used as an environment spray in the stable.

WHAT IS THE ITCH?

The Itch is known by many names depending on where you live: Sweet Itch, Summer Eczema or Midges. This is the most over diagnosed cause of an itchy horse. Sweet Itch is an allergic reaction to the saliva of the midge. These creatures are very tiny flying insects that burrow their heads entirely under the skin in order to suck on the blood of their victim. Some horses are allergic to the saliva of the midge and it causes an histamine reaction resulting in swelling and intense itchiness.
The midges bite along the dorsal region of the horse, forehead, withers, rump, and base of tail. However, it is only a proportion of horses that develop an allergic sensitivity to the bites. This reaction starts as small itchy nodules that the horse will rub and bite at until hair is lost and skin becomes reddened and scaly and crusts form.

A follow-through program for 6 to 12 weeks after symptoms have eased and for 6 weeks prior to the next season is advised. The herbal formulas are given internally just mixed into water and then into feed.

Itchy mare
Review by
My brumby mare Joy developed Queensland itch about 15 months ago, tried many supplements, creams, oils, sprays sponged on only, no rugging as she thinks she hates them. So decided to try the Itch program for her, after about 3 weeks there was definitely an improvement and by 6 weeks even better. She also developed Laminitis recently and is on Alleviate, now she has Stifle Lock and is about to go on Tendon and Bone. Thanks Kerry for all your advice and prompt dispatch of products to help my horses!

Shikara
Review by
Shikara has been using the Infect-A-Clear for about 3 months. She is currently not taking it, probably for about 4 weeks now (we ran out ) and she has relapsed so we are keen to continue with the herbal tonic that is recommended for horses who suffer the Queensland Itch.

Apart from the TLC she gets and the rugs and feed with dry herbs she still benefits greatly from Aller-GG too and we thank you for being able to give us a product that helps to make her so much more comfortable.
