Pugs are a breed that are prone to mast cell tumours. Most often they are low grade 1 or II tumours. Most recently my boy Rex had 5 pop up and we were considering using Stelfonta however on of the tumour was under the skin so surgery was the only option. My vet suggested a course of Prednisolone and also McDowell's to see if it would help. (we previously used the Mc Dowell treatment for a mast cell which disappeared completely). Happy to say that the tumors have gone again and Rex is now only on 1/2 and his McDowell treatment.

HARLEY BEATS THE ODDS
Review by
Our story started a year after we adopted Harley....it was the week before he turned a year old. He was diagnosed with mast cell tumors. We went through about 4 years of all different kinds of chemotherapy. It took Harley through a lot of physical problems such as lethargic behavior, loss of hair, no appetite and gaining weight because of the steroids. The doctors said he probably wouldn't make it 2 years because of how aggressive the tumors were. Well after 4-5 yrs of putting his body through this, I decided to check on herbal treatment and that is when I ran across this website....and after doing some research I ordered some mast cell treatment and maritime pine bark. Harley has been on this herbal treatment for about 3 1/2 years and is doing awesome! He still has the tumors but they have remained dormant since he started the treatment. Harley acts like a puppy still playing with sisters lexie and layla. It has been a godsend and he doesn't have any of the side effects he had from the chemo!

MABLE OVERCOMING MAST CELL TUMORS
Review by
My boston terrier has had a history of mast cell tumors (MCT). The first appeared in 2003, deep under her armpit up against her ribcage. With prednisone and benedryl, we were able to shrink it enough to remove the tumor yet keep the ribcage intact. A year later, another exterior MCT appeared on her leg. It was removed immediately without any medication. In April of 2005, I found a pimple like bump on her right flank which tested positive for MCT. Surgery was performed right away to remove it. Within a week, another appeared on her left flank. Another surgery.

Another week went by and I found a lump on her chest and a pimple on her belly. Both tesmarbleted positive for MCT. I was out of town working in New York City at the time of these occurrences and the vet in NY told me that I need to stop the surgeries and put Mable on Chemo and do what I can for her until her "demise". Fortunately my husband came out to visit me and took Mable home to San Francisco to see her regular vet and vet oncologist. The oncologist told me to put her back on benedryl and remove the two new MCT's immediately before they became systemic.

At that point, I started doing some research for alternative ways to prevent this. I came across Mr. McDowell's website with his herbal treatments for MCT. He also recommended the Pine Bark Extract. I also read about the quality of commercial pet foods. I had always fed Mable the best but started to wonder about the grains and fillers even in the best dog foods.

Well, knock on wood, but a year later with a combination of benedryl, pepcid, Mr. McDowell's herbal remedies and a diet of raw food, Mable has not had another episode of MCT. The doctor in NYC told me because one of the tumors tested Stage 2, it was inevitable she would succumb to this disease within a year. She has had some other lumps in the past year, but they all tested fatty.

I think Mr. McDowell's herbs have certainly played a huge part in keeping the disease at bay along with the raw diet. She has lost weight, her coat is silky and shiny, her energy is like a puppy's.

SADIE BATTLES AND DEFEATS HER MAST CELL CANCER
Review by
In June of 2005, Sadie our Pug, was found to have an abnormal looking bump on her side. I took her to the vet and the vet biopsied it and found that it was a 'Mast Cell Cancer Tumor.'

We had it removed along with a couple of others we found. Sadie was put under anesthesia and I didn't care for that. The vet said there was nothing you could do to prevent other mast cell cancers from popping up again!! (Boy were they in for a surprise.) Two months later Sadie had a couple of new mast cell tumors on her other side. I changed vets and began researching preventative care.

In my research I came across McDowell's Herbal Treatments website. I emailed him and received an immediate reply. I placed the order for the Mast Cell Cancer and Maritime Pine Bark formulas. I had the new cancers removed by another vet who used only local anesthesia. I told the vet about the herbal formulas and she said let's try them.

About 3 months later Sadie broke out with about 10 bumps on her, we had them biopsied BUT NONE were cancerous. The vet figured Sadie's Herbal formulas were removing all the toxins and pushing them through her skin. Sadie has been on Robert McDowell's herbs for 3 years and has not experienced any more mast cell cancers. She is now ten years old and still full of pep.

Thankyou Robert McDowell for your support. Ralph and Sadie.

***June 2011. Sadie has died, aged 13. She remained Cancer free for the last 6 years of her life. We were proud to have been her Herbal Support Team.

COOPER FIGHTS MAST CELL CANCER AND WINS
Review by
Our sweet Boston Terrier, Cooper, came into our lives 5 years ago when he was a year cooperand a half old. He was a rescue dog and we took him to be checked over by our vet. The vet immediately found a lump on his left haunch. He recommended that we have it removed. After the surgery the biopsy came back positive for a mast cell tumor. The lab also said that the margins were not big enough to ensure that the tumor was completely gone. By this time we had moved to another state and so we found a highly recommended surgeon who operated on Cooper. This time the results showed that the area was clear of cancerous cells.

We contacted the woman who had given Cooper to us just to let her know of his situation. She advised us to look at the McDowell website to find herbal support for him. We immediately looked for it online and found that there was a Mast Cell Support Mix that he could take every day as well as the Maritime Pine Bark Extract which is a powerful anti-oxidant. We ordered both of them and started Cooper on a regimen of twice daily doses. He has been on these herbs for about 4 1/2 years now and has remained cancer free.

We have used McDowell's consultation service (which is a free service) a number of times over the years and have received prompt and compassionate answers to our questions by e-mail and even by phone!

We are thrilled with Cooper's progress and can report that he is a healthy and happy boy. We keep him on a high quality grain free diet along with his herbal support. Thank you everyone at McDowells!!

Sincerely, Sheila Etkin

September 2016 - Cooper continues to be a healthy happy little guy 7 years after his orgiginal diagnosis. McDowells staff are so helpful and seem to care as much as we do about our four legged friends.

RUBY THE WEIMARANER
Review by
Ruby the Weimarener is 9 years old and had her first run with mast cell tumors when she was 2. I contacted you and had her on your blends for 5 years or so I think :) thinking they had gone, I took her off and they eventually came back.

Ruby seems to be doing well now. She had a bout of mast cell tumors that acted up and she blew up like a balloon on 2 different occasions.

Also she had some lymph node draining issues in her leg and had to have a few toe nails cut off.

Finally, once all the antibiotics, steroids and antihistamines were out of her body the herbal treatments started kicking in.

I hope by keeping her on the blends she will live a bit longer.

We are convinced that the herbal remedies have saved our dog! We are grateful for your products.

Thanks again.

PEARLY OVER COMES MAST CELL CANCER AND GALL BLADDER ISSUES TO CELEBRATE HER 16TH BIRTHDAY
Review by
Pearly our Lhasa Apso had a Mast cell cancer tumour removed in May 2011 when she was 13 ½ years old. Unfortunately it returned again 2 months later. At the same time some abnormal blood tests lead to a subsequent diagnosis of a ‘sludgy’ gall bladder. This meant a change of diet (strictly no fat) and medication to attempt to clear this up before the last resort of surgery to remove the gall bladder. I started Pearly on the Mast Cell Cancer Support and Maritime Pine Bark on 23rd July 2011. 2 ½ months later when we went back for a follow up ultrasound to check on the gall bladder the vet was astounded to find that the mast cell cancer regrowth had completely vanished. Since that time Pearly has been on reduced doses of the Mast Cell Cancer Support and even off it for short periods of time. At the first sign of any suspicious growth I have her back on it and at this stage I think we will just keep her on it.

After the wonderful results with the Mast Cell Cancer Support, Kate prescribed a Special Liver and Gall Bladder mix for Pearly to try and assist the clearing up of the sludgy gall bladder. I gave that to Pearly along with changes to her diet, metamucil, fish oil and Vitamin B3 prescribed by the vet. Kate also suggested Dandelion tea for Pearly which she loves and is now a standard component of her daily diet. One year after the initial diagnosis Pearly’s blood test results and gall bladder were virtually back to normal. Another round of surgery was avoided.rsz pearly 2

Now over 2 years later we have just celebrated Pearly’s 16th birthday, a milestone I do not think she would have reached without the amazing help from the Mast Cell Cancer Support. Pearly seems to be healthier than she has ever been and apart from the fact that she has limited hearing she is still very much enjoying life.

ROXY HAS 5 EXTRA QUALITY YEARS WITH MAST CELL TUMOURS
Review by
It is with a heavy heart that I let you know that our dearest Roxy passed on from this life earlier this morning, and she is now in heaven looking down upon us. While it is very sad for Michelle, me and the countless others that Roxy has touched in her almost 15 years...we reflect fondly on our many wonderful memories with her! We wanted to send a sincere and heartfelt THANK YOU to you, your entire herbal team for your support and kind words over the past five years!!!! When we received the initial diagnosis of Roxy's mast cell tumours in October of 2010, we knew that the cancer would most likely keep coming back. After her first surgery to remove the several growths in her body, Michelle seeked out a remedy and came across your organization. What a blessing that was!!!!!!! While Roxy did have a minor re-occurrence and subsequent surgery the following year, we truly feel that it was your drops that allowed us to enjoy another 5 years of quality life with our beloved Roxy!!
You and your team have always been very kind, responsive, and genuinely caring about Roxy! We will be forever grateful for all you have done!! Thank you again for all you have done for Roxy and us; we truly appreciate it!! God bless all of you.
