Botanical name: Saccharomyces cerevisiae
Beer is manufactured with brewer's yeast, which is derived from the single-celled fungus Saccharomyces cerevisiae. For many years, it has been cultivated and utilised as a dietary supplement. Minerals, especially selenium, protein, B-complex vitamins, and chromium—a vital trace mineral that aids in the maintenance of appropriate blood sugar levels—are abundant in brewer's yeast.
Brewer's yeast contains B1 (thiamine), B2 (riboflavin), B3 (niacin), B5 (pantothenic acid), B6 (pyridoxine), B9 (folic acid), and H or B7 (biotin), which are the B-complex vitamins. The body uses these vitamins to break down proteins, lipids, and carbs to make energy. They also assist maintain the digestive muscles, support the nervous system, and maintain the condition of the skin, hair, eyes, mouth, and liver.
B12, an important vitamin present in meat and dairy products, is absent from brewer's yeast.
